Terms of Service

These terms cover the Eff Mirrors apps for iPhone and Android, the Discover gallery, share links and this website. Please read them before you create an account.

Effective date:

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Eff Mirrors [legal entity name] ("we", "us"). By using Eff Mirrors you agree to these Terms and to how we handle data as described in our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Eff Mirrors.

2. Who can use Eff Mirrors

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. You can't use Eff Mirrors if we have previously banned your account or if the law prohibits it.

3. Your account

  • You can shoot without an account. Saving presets to the cloud, sharing to Discover and writing reviews need one.
  • You sign in with Apple, Google, a passkey or an email link. Keep access to that method secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Choose a handle and display name that don't impersonate anyone or infringe someone else's rights. We may reclaim a handle that does.
  • Tell us at support@effmirrors.app if you think someone else is using your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time. See Delete your account.

4. The app and presets

A preset in Eff Mirrors combines capture settings with a color look. The built-in Eff Originals presets are ours; you may use them to shoot, and the photos and videos you make with them are yours. You can save up to 5 presets you create to your account so they sync across your devices. Features can depend on your phone's camera, and we may add, change or remove features over time.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, videos and presets you create. Photos and videos you shoot are saved to your phone; we don't receive them unless you publish them as samples. You are responsible for what you publish and confirm that you have the rights to it, including the consent of identifiable people in your samples where the law requires it.

6. Sharing to Discover

Discover is the gallery in the app where creators share looks. When you publish a preset (a "listing") with sample photos, or write a review, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display and distribute that content in Eff Mirrors, through share links and on our websites, and to promote Eff Mirrors, for as long as it is published. This licence ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except for copies other people already saved, and backups that age out on their normal schedule.

When someone gets your preset, you grant them a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use that preset version in Eff Mirrors and to use the photos and videos they make with it for any lawful purpose. They may not republish your preset itself as their own.

  • Samples must be real. Every sample must be shot in Eff Mirrors with the preset it shows. The app verifies this with Apple App Attest or Google Play Integrity and strips GPS and sensitive EXIF data before publishing.
  • Reviews must be honest. Only people who got a preset and shot with it can review it. Don't review your own presets, trade reviews, or post reviews on someone else's behalf.
  • We may moderate. We may review, refuse, label or remove listings, samples and reviews that break these Terms, and new creators may be reviewed by hand before their first listing appears.

7. Rules of conduct

Don't use Eff Mirrors to:

  • post content you don't have the rights to, or that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
  • post sexual content involving minors, sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or content that promotes terrorism or self-harm;
  • harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone, or post hateful content;
  • spam, mislead people about what a preset does, or manipulate ratings, reviews or download counts;
  • publish samples not shot in the app, or tamper with capture records, device attestation or other verification;
  • scrape, reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the service, or bypass its limits or security, except where the law allows it;
  • break any law.

8. Reports, takedowns and repeat infringers

You can report a listing, sample, review or profile in the app, and block people you don't want to interact with. Seehow to report content. We review reports and may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts.

We respond to copyright notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and similar laws. Follow ourCopyright (DMCA) policy to send a notice or counter-notice. In appropriate circumstances we terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

9. Our rights

Eff Mirrors, its apps, Eff Originals presets, design, code and brand belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose under these Terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

10. App stores

If you downloaded Eff Mirrors from the App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, and the store's own terms also apply. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for apps obtained from the App Store and may enforce them against you. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.

11. Disclaimers

Eff Mirrors is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a preset will look the same on every device, or that content shared by others is accurate or lawful. Keep your own copies of anything important: photos are saved to your phone's library, and you are responsible for backing them up.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Eff Mirrors. Our total liability for any claim relating to Eff Mirrors is limited to USD 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

13. Termination

You can stop using Eff Mirrors and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users or the service. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Sections 6 (for copies already saved by others), 9, 11, 12 and 15 survive termination.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Eff Mirrors after that, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree, delete your account.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where Eff Mirrors [legal entity name] is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring claims in its courts.
